Sika

 Summer Term.

 May 2016

Our topic is Mr McGregor's Garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Knightshayes the other week. The weather was wonderful and the children a delight to take out. We hunted for bugs and made bug houses. We enjoyed a look around Knightshayes house and imagined what it might be like to live there. We walked around the walled garden and spotted Mr McGregor in the lettuce patch!

Mrs Dunning has given each class a  garden planter and our task is to fill it with plants in an imaginative way. There are prizes for the best class. I thought we could make Mr McGregor's garden and the children have had lots of good ideas. I will show you the finished result!

Many thanks, once again, to Mr and Mrs Heywood for providing us with eggs which we successfully hatched a couple of weeks ago. It is always such a magical event and the children have really enjoyed watching them grow. We have just completed a week of non fiction writing about our chicks. They are currently enjoying life in their coop in our garden.

Today we enjoyed a visit from Madame Morrison. She taught the children how to count up to ten in French, and sing along to action songs!

Class One really enjoyed their golden treat today. We had a fun filled session on a giant bouncy castle and everyone had their face painted.
