Class information

Welcome to Roe Class, which is the Reception and Year 1 Class. Our teachers are Sharon Hagley (Monday to Thursday) and Mia Horrell (Friday). We are also supported in class by Jenny Rogers.
In Roe Class we provide a carefully planned curriculum with a new theme each half term.
The children learn within an engaging and supportive environment with a balance of adult led and child- initiated activities. We have an outside space for children to access, with an all- weather track.
We understand the importance of Early Reading and writing and follow Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised phonics programme. The children have daily phonic lessons. Reading books will be sent home each Monday, so that you can support your child with reading at home.
Each Thursday the children have sports activities with a PE coach. They can come to school on this day in their PE clothes.

Welcome to Fallow Class. We are Year’s 2, 3 and 4. Our teachers are Mia Horrell (Tuesday – Thursday) and Emily Budden (Monday and Friday). We are also supported in class by Fran Greenslade.

Everyday we practice our phonics, number facts, handwriting and reading. We also make time to pray and to meditate using mindfulness activities. We encourage daily reading of the book your child brings home. We enjoy a mix of group work with our adults and continuous provision which helps us apply and practice our learning.

Our continuous provision activities are linked to the learning the children are completing in the classroom. The children are all keen to complete the activities as they get invited to a special lunch if they have completed the most continuous provision challenges in the week!

PE is on a Thursday

Welcome to Sika Class for children in Years 4, 5 and 6. Our teachers are Rachel James (Monday – Wednesday) and Henrietta Ali Ahmad (Thursday – Friday). We are supported in class by Jenny Rogers and Ruth Scott.

In class 3 we have termly topics which centre around learning about our world in the past and now. They tend to have either a geographical/scientific or a historical focus. We also do a class book over the term for our guided reading which is based on our current topic.

In the morning we focus on: guided reading, maths and English including grammar. In the afternoon we do our topic lessons, PSHE, RE, spellings, music, RE and PE.

We expect children to read at home every day and reading records should be handed in to be checked on a Monday. We have weekly spellings which children should also practice at home and they get tested on a Friday. Children are expected to work on their number skills at home and can use TT Rockstars for this. At times, we set additional homework which may be research based for our topic.

We have PE on a Thursday.
